Why Work at Kamp Kiwanis?

Here at Kamp Kiwanis, we are huge supporters of having fun and we strongly encourage staff to get their silly on! While working at Kamp Kiwanis you’ll not only get to be part of long lasting traditions, but you will also work closely with like-minded and passionate individuals who enjoy working with children in the great outdoors!

Here’s what some of our staff have had to say about how they have grown and learned new skills while working at Kamp, as well as, what Kamp means to them and some of their favourite Kamp memories:

As a university student unsure of my future path in life, working at Kamp Kiwanis gave me experience in leadership, organization, working as part of an amazing team, and serving the community, in an incomparable way. What was supposed to be “just my summer job” turned into a deep passion for the place, the people, and the purpose. The Kamp Staff life takes a lot of energy, but to know that I was part of helping kids have the best summer of their lives was a true privilege.
— Former First Aid Coordinator/Lifeguard
It’s always going to be a second home for me. I spent a third of my life out at Kamp (wow, right?!) so I can’t help but feel I’ll always be welcome there.
— Former Camp Director
Kamp taught me how to be me, comfortably and confidently, as well as, redirected my life onto a new safe, happy, and positive road.
— Former Camp Counsellor
Kamp to me is one of the most special places you can be. To live there, learn there, thrive there — I don’t think I’ll ever find somewhere that quite measures up. There’s a reason that Kamp staff consistently come back, it’s a second home for so many people and a place that no matter how long you’ve been gone from, will always take you right back and make you feel at home once again.
— Former Assistant Director
I definitely learned a lot about conflict resolution and how to deal with situations with a calm head. There was always a lot going on, so learning to look at the big picture and approach situations peacefully was essential!
