Venturer Lodge

A rental facility with meeting, dining, and sleeping facilities for 50 people. This building includes an attractive indoor fireplace, hardwood floors in the dining hall, and was opened in September, 2001. This building is available for rentals throughout the year except between the fourth week of June and the third week of August (during this time it is used for the Kamp Kiwanis summer program). It is named in honour of the Christian Venturer Society of Cochrane, Alberta, who have been supporters of Kamp Kiwanis for many years.

Dining Facilities

The dining hall in Venturer Lodge sits up to 80 people. Food Services can be provided by Monet Catering, Matthew Prosser, 403-660-3007. However many groups using Venturer Lodge decide to do their own cooking. All necessary cooking supplies are provided including pots, dishes, cutlery, stove, oven, dishwasher, and refridgerator. If Kamp Kiwanis provides meals, the menu is negotiated between our Chef and the coordinators from every rental group.

Meeting Facilities

Venturer Lodge has one meeting room - the dining hall. The Acheson bunkroom can be converted into a meeting room if requested.

Sleeping Facilities

There are 51 wood frame bunkbeds with vinyl covered mattresses available in Venturer Lodge. This lodge has 6 bunkrooms named in honour of neighbours of Kamp Kiwanis Calgary who have been long time supporters of the kamp: Barnes (sleeps 9 people), Robinson (sleeps 5 people), Copithorne (sleeps 6 people), Gauthier (sleeps 5 people), Mix-Inn (sleeps 12 people), Acheson (sleeps 14 people).

Venturer Lodge is a one storey building, with many environmental features. It is available year round except between the fourth week of June and the third week of August when it is used for the Kamp Kiwanis summer camp program.
