The nomination forms for the 2013 summer kamp season are now available.  If you know of a child finishing grade 4, 5, or 6 that would be unable to attend a summer camp due to financial or certain social situations please head to the Summer Kamp Details and Dates section for the nomination forms.  If you know of an youth finishing grade 7, 8, 9, 10, or 11 please head to the Summer Kamp Leadership Programs section for the nomination forms.

We are holding a very important event at Kamp Kiwanis on November 3, 2012.  There will be a dinner celebration for Nestor & Ellen Kelba.  Nestor & Ellen have been involved with Kamp Kiwanis and the Kiwanis Club Of Calgary since 1967 when they were offered the positions of Kamp Mom (including nurse and hobbies) and Kamp Director.  Over the years the two have contributed to and shaped Kamp Kiwanis largely into what it is.

Nestor was instrumental in turning Kamp Kiwanis into a year round facility.  In 1996 when the Kiwanis Lodge was opened (a result of turning Kamp Kiwanis into a year round facility).  Nestor was approached to operate Kamp Kiwanis as the Managing Director.  Nestor continued in this role until February of 2012.

Join us on November 3, 2012 - 4:00pm to help us celebrate these two exceptional individuals and their contributions to Kamp Kiwanis.

Kamp Kiwanis is proud to welcome Cory “Hawk” Johnson to his new position as the new Kamp Director! Cory first started at Kamp Kiwanis in 1992. After taking time to work at several different camps and outdoor centers in addition to starting his own business as a motivational speaker, we are excited to have him back. In addition to working as a program staff at Kamp Kiwanis Cory has been very active with Kiwanis in several capacities. Cory has acted in the capacities of director as well as president of the Kiwanis Club of Calgary Downtown. Cory has served as the Governor of the Kiwanis Western Canadian District. Cory’s passion for making positive memories for children, being outdoors, the environment, trying new and challenging tasks excites everyone at Kamp Kiwanis. As we welcome Cory to our team in this demanding position we have no doubt that his hard work and dedication to Kamp Kiwanis and the children that we serve will lead to more great experiences for everyone involved with Kamp Kiwanis.

Jessica Carrier - Camp Director has decided that this summer will be her last at Kamp Kiwanis.  She will be returning to her studies in the fall.  Kamp Kiwanis would like to thank Jessica on behalf of the staff and kampers that had the pleasure of spending time with her at Kamp Kiwanis, Thank you Jessica for everything that you brought to Kamp Kiwanis.  Your hard work and dedication made a difference in the lives of the kampers, staff, and volunteers of Kamp Kiwanis.  We wish you the best in your future endeavors.
